Let’s start with the year of birth. It is the year 2000, the beginning of the new millennium, in Eastern Europe Romania.

We weren’t always called Retina; it was 2002 when we thought of re-branding the company and we have been Retina Web Agency ever since. The services we have provided to our clients always revolved around Graphic Design, Web Design, Internet Marketing and Technologies; always adapting to the new requirements of World Wide Web and globalisation.

On the Romanian market we worked a lot for Advertising Agencies and their clients. We still do.

In 2000 we started working with McCann Erickson for their own website and then with their clients like Overseas, Neocity, Nestle (we have built a campaign website in 2005 for Chocapic and Nesquik). We can also name, among the clients we had in the first year of our existence, the Reuters group, for which we have developed a regional website.

In 2001 another advertising agency, Scala Thompson, asked us for help with a website for one of their clients, Unilever – Bona. Also, in 2001 we started the collaboration with Proximity Bucharest for a campaign website for Snickers Cruncher.

In 2002 four new agencies started to send their interactive projects our way: Graffiti BBDO, Propaganda, Id Studio, Prospero; and to name some of the brands that we have done work for: 7UP, Graffiti BBDO’s own website, Proximity’s own website, Cosmorom, Snickers, Opel Dibas, Labormed, Wrigley Xcite, British Council. 2002 is the year that we developed GFK’s first website in Romania, in 2003 they came back to us to renew their website and they have been relying on us with support ever since.

In 2003, through the advertising agencies (old and newly gained ones like Babel Communication), we had the opportunity to work on projects for well known brands like: Mountain Dew, Romtelecom, Innovatics Laboratories, HTP Medical, Renault

Projects done for important brands were added to our portfolio in 2004: Cesarom, La Fantana, Finetti Sticks, Henkel, APCI – Kia Rio, Connex, Schweppes, Timisoreana (the latter 2 projects developed for Lowe Lintas). The website created for La Fantana won second prize at the “Aqua Awards” in Paris (2004).

The collaborations started in 2002 with Ipsos Interactive Services (part of the Ipsos Group no. 6 in Marketing Research world wide) and in 2003 with Coca Cola HBC, developed into long time partnerships, that are still strong and successful today.  For Ipsos Interactive Services we have been developing web applications that enable reaching 500,000 respondents all over the world through on line surveys. Coca Cola HBC relies on us for building up their employee branding and their communication with their employees and all the potential job candidates through the website developed and all the print materials created.

In 2005 we entered the American market with the entire range of our services: both Graphic Designs and Web Applications. On one hand we have become specialized in helping life coaches and public speakers market their services online, so that they can concentrate on their clients. We created for them: logos, business cards, letterheads, brochures, presentations, websites, blogs, shopping carts, newsletter/auto-responder, affiliate systems, etc. On the other hand we have been asked to build applications that help our customers manage their online and off-line business.

2006 was an important year regarding the Romanian customers, through local agencies like Proximity and InsideBrand, or directly, we have had the opportunity of developing websites for Whiskas, Pedigree, Activia, Actimel, Paste Baneasa, Smartree.

This is our past, and we are proud of it!

Our future? We hope glorious, generated by our Mission and by the Values that guide our way of conducting business.
